Amy Butler Sewing Patterns Reversible Sunday Sling
Stylish & sweet and easy to sew! This reversible modern design is great for beginners - with simple, large pockets, tie handles and pleats. This gorgeous bag makes every day as easy as Sunday.
Materials List
The yardage given is for a one-way design. Allow extra yardage for matching or centering a design on your fabric.
The Sunday Sling comes in two sizes; a small one that’s great for every day use (the perfect shoulder bag), or a large one when you need a little extra room.
The sling can be made using 44” wide quilting weight fabric OR 54” wide mid-weight Home Dec fabric. Please check the chart below for the amount required for the size sling you’re making.
INTERFACING / NOTIONS NEEDED NOTE: Please check the chart above for the amount required for the interfacing, fleece and Peltex®.
* 20” wide fusible woven interfacing (I use Shape Flex® SF-101 by Pellon®) * 44” wide fusible fleece (I use fusible Thermolam® Plus by Pellon®) * 20” wide single-sided fusible Peltex® #71 by Pellon® * 1 spool of coordinating all-purpose thread (I use my Rowan Thread)
TOOLS NEEDED: Scissors, Seam ripper, Pressing cloth, Hand sewing needle, Straight pins, Iron and Ironing board, Turning tool (such as a closed pair of scissors), Ruler, Fabric marker
Finished Sizes: Small Sling - 18” wide x 14 1/8” tall (28” tall with Handles) x 3 1/4” deep Large Sling - 23” wide x 16 1/8” tall (30” tall with Handles) x 4” deep
Fabrics shown are from my SOUL BLOSSOMS™ Collection for Rowan. Sunday Sling on the front cover uses AB56 Carmine / Fuchsia Tree and AB62 Honeydew / Buttercups. Small Sling in the bottom photo to the left uses AB65 Blush / Peacock Feathers and AB59 Saffron / Twilight Peony.
